A joint partnership between Registered Massage Therapists Jana Asman of Vancouver and Maggie McDowell of Jasper, Alberta, the new company benefits from its owners’ 14 years of experience in the health care field. Graduates of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy three-year program, both women value the high standards of the medical model that is the foundation of their profession. However, a dramatic shift in the expectation of patients led them to a surprising conclusion. “The all-white, rather cold aesthetic of the medical model is no longer a good fit,” Maggie says. “People who’ve experienced the
